PRESIDENTIAL BIOGRAPHY PROJECT
I attempted to begin reading one biography on each U.S. president in 2017. After about 20 pages of Ron Cherow's tome on George Washington, I gave up on it. Well...here's round two. Below you'll find my tracking spreadsheet. As I finsh each book, I'll write a "review" of sorts on each book. Maybe this will keep me accountable? Maybe I just like seeing my stuff on the internet. Either way, huge thanks to Steve at www.bestpresidentialbios.com, whose website helped me fill in the blanks in my list for the presidents I did not have. Of the over 1,200 books in my home library, I thought I had many of the presidents' biographies (as did my wife) but alas, I realized I did not. As you'll see, lines highlighted in yellow are books I already own, orange means that I still need to purchase it, and green means that I read the book. Wish me luck!
UPDATE (Dec. 28, 2022) — I started with Ron Chernow's Washington: A Life, but Jesus, Mary, and Joseph... what a long book with tiny print. I think for motivation's sake, I may start with a palette cleanser, like say Alexis Coe's You Never Forget Your First: A Biography of George Washington or Joseph Ellis' His Excellency: George Washington so I can get this plane off the ground. With the amount of time (or lack thereof) that I give myself to read, there is no way I'll finish Chernow's book before the end of 2023. We'll return to that one at a later date.
